Library
Background
The Central Library of the Majuli University of Culture (MUC) aims to provide quality knowledge and useful resources to the users of the university. The library is well-organized in terms of its presently available resources. The Central Library, MUC is committed to serve the institution and the society at large. The initial works like purchasing bookshelves, books and collecting donated documents for establishing a library was started at the temporary office of the University at Kamalabari. The existing set up of the Central Library was shifted in the month of February, 2023 to the present transit campus at Chitadarchuk, Garamur Majuli.
The Central Library, MUC has been serving the user community since March, 2023. Apart from the documents relevant to the needs of the readers of academic departments of the University, the Central Library, MUC has separate collections like “Collection of Asam Sahitya Sabha (অসম সাহিত্য সভাৰ গ্ৰন্থ সম্ভাৰ)”, “Dr. Surjya Kanta Hazarika Book Collection (ড° সূৰ্য্য কান্ত হাজৰিকা গ্ৰন্থ সম্ভাৰ)”, “Munin Bhuyan Book Collection (মুনীন ভূঞা গ্ৰন্থ সম্ভাৰ)”, “Dr. Heramba Kumar Bharali Book Collection (ড° হেৰম্ব কুমাৰ ভৰালী গ্ৰন্থ সম্ভাৰ)”, “Mousumi Kakoti Book Collection (মৌচুমী কাকতি গ্ৰন্থ সম্ভাৰ)” . The Central Library, MUC has a number of plans like establishment of different special book collections e.g., “Collection on Majuli (মাজুলী বিষয়ক গ্ৰন্থ সম্ভাৰ)”, “Collection on Sankaradeva-Madhabdeva (শঙ্কৰদেৱ-মাধৱদেৱ গ্ৰন্থ সম্ভাৰ)”, etc, and other plans like establishment of Digital Archive of the Manuscripts of Assam, establishment of a Museum to Showcase the Cultural Heritage of the indigenous tribes and other communities of Majuli, etc.

Vision:
The Cental Library intends to incorporate the latest technology and adopt user friendly approach to provide the right information to the right user.
The Central Library aims to build a strong bridge with society by extending its services to the society at large.
